Over the last days I did some changes to the SCMs for my private projects. Some got migrated from svn to git. Also some git repos changed the location. Please refer to the overview websites if you run into trouble:

Today my La Fonera arrived. You get it for free in Germany at the moment. The first thing I thought was: It is really small, only the half of my hand.

La Fonera is the next generation of FON AP's. You have two ESSID'S. One for public and one for private use. The public one is called FON_datenfreihafen.org . The FON_ prefix is mandatory and I like the idea of this namespace.

The private ESSID is crypted with WPA or WPA2 on your choice. I was surprised as I saw the AP advertised both:

I never saw this before. Not sure if this is fine with the WIFI standard. But NetworkManger connects fine anyway. :)

But there is also a bad news. La Fonera is not as open as the firmware of the WRT54G version was. Not sure if I this way. Here is a Licence Statement.

Unscheduled downtime of datenfreihafen.org

Today datenfreihafen.org was down the last 9 hours. We had to change the IP address today, but unfortunately had forgotten about this. :)

That's why it took longer as expected. Everything should be working again now.

I think for quite some time to get an paypal account. Today I got one.

So if people like to donate money for my work in open source projects, they can do it via paypal now.

To make this clear, the preferred way to help open source projects is to write code, documentation, answer questions on maillinglist, etc. But if you don't have the skills, writing documentation should not be a problem at all, or time, donating money or hardware is also fine.

Just a short sidenote if you like to donate money for OpenEZX this way. This is a personal account, means you donate money to me and not to the OpenEZX project in general. If you like to donate for the OpenEZX project in general, get in contact with me and i see what we can do.

datenfreihafen.org moved to another server.

The last two days i was working on moving all content from datenfreihafen.org to another server. Now i share a system with http://www.sicherheitsschwankung.de/.

With this move all my space and traffic problems should be gone.

While i moving the content i also move all old svn repositories served with svnserve to webdav. Hopefully i'll find the time to integrate the repos into the project part of datenfreihafen.org.

OpenEZX logo contest is over.

nanoblogger upgrade

Yesterday i upgraded my weblog to a recent nanoblogger version. You can now use speial category feeds only if you want. The openezx category feed is now used in openezx planet. After upgrade i had to fix the END tags by hand. They changed form ----- to END-----.

New source code release for EZX phone arrived.

Today the new source code release for EZX phones from motorola arrived. The most stuff they did was typo, layout and copyright fixing. So no new code is available. :( But they told me more releases will follow. The code is available at:
