OpenEZX wiki and precompiled busybox [UPDATE]

Today Harald Welte launched the OpenEZX Project wiki. I think this is a good point at the beginning for search, find and share information. I added some small info about crosscompile.
You can find info about a precompiled busybox at: http://wiki.openezx.org/index.php/Software::AP::OpenEZX#busybox

A780: toolchain, crosscompile, busybox and kernel modules

This night we get a deeper look into the A780. We, that means me and two friends of mine: Daniel Willmann and Jan Luebbe.
Here are the things, we have working yet:
  • Shrunk the vfat partitions on transflash disk.
  • Add ext3 partition on disk.
  • Setup toolchain for crosscompile. http://marcus.bluetroll.se/e680/
  • Crosscompile busybox.
  • Crosscompile some matching kernel modules like jbd.o ext3.o and nfsd.o
But there are more good news on this front. Harald Welte launched the http://www.open-ezx.org/ website. See you on the maillinglist.

More utils for A780

I am still hacking on the A780. :)
Today i testing some precompiled linux-utils from http://pashkovsky.com/e680/. Compiled for E680, but also work on the A780. There is still a libncurses problem, but the most utils worked. :)
Another programm i tested was opie. The guys from Motorolafans.com wrote a proxy to start opie as an task in the original firmware. Some guidlines for setup you can find at http://rcsc.sisrs.com/mfc/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1148&highlight=opie. You have to register before you can read the forum. Yes, i also think that this is stupid.
I'm still searching for a possibility to sync my phone with my linux laptop. The software only offers exchange or synML. It is time to read something about syncML.

A shell on the A780

Today i've been working to get a shell on my phone. I have now two possibilities to really work with this gadget. Thanks to liloader and some AT command tweaks you can set the phone in an usblan modus. You only need the usbnet linux kernel module, and you can get a telnet shell over USB. The second possibility is qonsole. A java based concole programm on the phone. But the font of qonsole is too small and you must use a virtual keyboard. A good introduction is this german only site: http://www.linux-portal.com/phonewiki/index.php/Telnet_Zugriff
